Forces Command controls all US Army forces, Active, Reserve and National Guard, in the continental United States. Its principal mission is to maintain these forces in a deployable status according to current war plans. FORSCOM, as it is commonly known, has a secondary mission of continental defense. Some other Major Army Commands are Training and Doctrine Command and US Army Europe.
